While You Were Running for the Roses

Or running for a mint julep, depending on your genus/species makeup. We're not the hugest of horse racing fans and didn't watch this weekend's Kentucky Derby (normally we watch it for the bourbon, but congrats to Mine That Bird, Calvin Borel & co.), but any big event won by a long-shot underdog deserves a little attention.

Or a lot. The Derby sure does bring out the purple, doesn't it? Here's some fun coverage from the NYT, the WSJ, and the Worldwide Leader (w/ video). Anyway, in news closer to our industrial home, ARVO kicks off this weekend so expect to see a ton of ophthonews this week.

While our European readers (& bloggers) are still having a long weekend ...

  • The pork lobby would say that, wouldn't they? "Pork is Safe to Eat, Handle". In other news, bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooooood.
  • Get yer ARVO news here.
  • Go on, you know you want one.
  • Also via Pharmagossip, something tells us this may become a popular web site: AfterPharma.
